What is Sloyd? My favorite definition of Sloyd comes from Jogge Sundquist who said that a person practicing Sloyd is "not un-crafty". Sloyd is based on skills sharing & the use of hand tools to learn crafts, primarily woodwork, but could also include paper-folding, sewing, embroidery, knitting, leatherwork, and/or crochet to make things we use in daily life. The word sloyd comes from the Swedish word slöjd, which means crafts, handicraft, or handiwork.
